Extra big 6’5″ 203 lbs. 5th year unrestricted free agent center Brody Sutter(19) signs his first minor league contract with Manitoba Moose heading into 2017/2018.

He was dealt at the beginning of last season to Florida Panthers but immediately sent to affiliate Springfield Thunderbirds, where he was limited to only 19 AHL games due to recurring injury.

He did manage a tidy 4 goals and 5 assists in his brief stint.

Originally a Carolina Hurricanes‘ 7th round pick in the 2011 draft (#193 overall), he played over 200 games with their farm club Charlotte Checkers.

Not really a prolific scorer, he had three years of 20+ points, which was below close to point-per-game totals with Lethbridge Hurricanes of the WHL.

The 25-year old definitely needs to step it up to keep getting contracts.

Could be he’s a late bloomer and he does have size with a willingness to use it.
