Cameron-Darcy2

3rd year center Cameron Darcy(19) clears unconditional waivers and has the final season of his entry level contract with Tampa Bay Lightning mutually terminated.

He skated two campaigns with affiliate Syracuse Crunch posting 7 goals and 12 assists in 90 AHL games but was also reassigned further down to Kalamazoo Wings, where he lit it up in 20 ECHL contests scoring 5 goals and 20 assists with a +11 rating.

For 2017/2018, he decides in favor of a return to the K-Wings but very possibly could find himself loaned up to Utica Comets on more than a few occasions.

The decently-sized 6′ 190 lbs. forward that plays a high energy style game bounced around quite a bit before turning pro, first skating with the USNTDP of the USHL for a pair of seasons before agreeing to head off to Northeastern University but that only last 9 appearances before he split for Muskegon Lumberjacks for the remainder of 2012/2013.

He then finished up with a couple of years in the QMJHL.

It’s likely the still super-young 23-year old finds his groove and may even get another look from a big league team or will split for some better hockey/better payday overseas.
