Ottawa Senators‘ 4th year left wing Ryan Dzingel(18) skated his first full season in the NHL on a two-way 1-year extension scoring a new high 14 goals and 18 assists in 81 games with a +7 rating, then popped in another 2 goals and an assists in 15 playoff contests.

In the previous campaign he split time almost equally between the two leagues but had a best 24 assists and 36 points in just 44 AHL games, while grabbing 3 tallies and 6 helpers in his first 30 games with the parent club.

The 25-year old recently signed a nice, cash-friendly deal to stick with the team for another 2 years and will likely continue to produce pretty well for them despite him being a deep draft selection.

Ryan Dzingel (43)

Ottawa Senators‘ 2nd year left wing Ryan Dzingel(43) received his 1st NHL recall in what is a contract year for the skater.

He played a sparingly used 7 shifts for 5:25 minutes of ice time with 1 hit, 2 penalty minutes, went 50% in the face off dot and was a -1 rating in a 2-1 shootout loss.

The small-ish forward leads affiliate Binghamton Senators in assists with 24 and is tied for the lead in points at 36.

He was tops for all rookies last season with his 17-17-34 totals and finished four on the team in goal scoring.

His marks in 43 AHL games this season has eclipsed what he put up last year and it looks like he will reach new peaks.

The 23-year is set to become a restricted free agent at the end of current campaign but seems like an easy bet to receive a qualifying offer and stay in the system.

Ottawa Senators‘ 7th round pick in the 2011 draft (#204 overall) rookie center Ryan Dzingel(43) has put up point-per-game numbers in his three years at Ohio State University and before that as a member of Lincoln Stars in the USHL.

He was a 2014 Hobey Baker Award finalist.

Upon signing his 2-year entry level contract he went right to work on an ato with affiliate Binghamton Senators scoring 2 goals and 5 assists in 9 AHL games.

The seemingly smaller than listed at 6′ 196 lbs. forward had a good training camp and was a late cut reassigned to start his first year with the farm club.

He’s put up 11 goals and 6 assists in 40 games, which may be a bit of a slow start but he definitely sees the ice well and has game-changer abilities.

The 22-year may stay in the minors this season but he is likely being looked at to have a productive summer and report to camp with a good chance to make the parent clubs’ 2015/2016 opening night roster.
