Travis-Boyd

Washington Capitals‘ 6th round pick in the 2011 draft (#177 overall) center Travis Boyd(72) put up a career high and team leading 47 assists and 63 points with affiliate Hershey Bears last season as a sophomore skater.

In his rookie campaign he had a career high 21 goals.

Through 23 AHL games this season he already has 3 goals and 17 assists but for the first time in his pro career in a -8.

The 5’11” 185 lbs. forward has never been a crazy point-getter but definitely has the ability to dish out those helpers and amass points as he did in high school, with the USNTDP squad in the year he was selected and his final two runs at University Of Minnesota.

His strong play in the early going of 2017/2018 has earned him a first NHL recall.

In his debut he was out there for 13 shifts and 9:10 of ice time, including one shot on net in a 4-1 win.

The 24-year old will be a restricted free agent for the second time and should earn himself a tidy extension, especially if he’s able to produce any points in the show.
