Minnesota Wild 2008 2nd round pick (#55 overall) defenseman, Marco Scandella(6) finds himself right in the mix on the NHL team in his 2nd year in the system. And in the first five games played, he picked up his first NHL goal.

He played 20 games with the team last season collecting a couple of assists but doesn’t exactly have the best +/- numbers.

In the AHL Calder Cup Playoffs, he played 20 games for the Houston Aeros registering 2 goals and 6 assists before falling to Binghamton Senators in the Finals.

Minnesota Wild expects Colton Gillies(18) to finally fully mature in his 4th and 5th years pro as they handed him a two-year, one-way contract that will pay him $1.25 million for the next couple of seasons regardless of where he plays in their system.

There’s no doubt it’s time for him to make use of that 6’4″ 208 lbs. frame in the NHL and prove to folks why he was a 1st round pick (#16 overall) in the 2007 draft.

Boston Bruins organization did the right thing signing 25-year old Russian-born goaltender Anton Khudobin(30) for the next two seasons.

Picked up in a trade with Minnesota late last year, he almost gave Providence a chance at qualifying for the AHL Calder Cup playoffs going 9-4 down the stretch.

In the 6 games he started in net with the Wild, he’s posted a record of 4-1 and continues to show much promise for a future in the NHL.
